Our Vitamin A Serum is a potent anti-acne formula that can be used to spot-treat stubborn blemishes, or as an all-over treatment to help prevent future breakouts. Use with the Clarifying Complex and Clarifying Face and Body Bar to keep acne under control.

Retinyl Palmitate

This acne-fighting serum works by using a vitamin A derivative called Retinyl Palmitate to increase cell turnover, helping to keep skin clear of pore-clogging debris. Retinyl Palmitate also works to fade hyperpigmentation and other marks that old blemishes may have left behind. This potent anti-acne ingredient has anti-aging benefits as well, stimulating collagen production to reveal plumper, smoother skin.

Lavender, Camphor, Tea Tree, and Copaiba essential oils help to calm inflammation and fight infection.  

Main Benefits: Promotes skin cell turnover, improves skin tone, helps unclog pores, helps thicken the dermis to slow down the formation of wrinkles.  Great for Anti-Aging, Acne and Pigmentation.

Who Can Use It: Because retinyl palmitate is the least irritating of all retinoids, it’s a great option for almost all skin types and anyone who wants to keep their pores clear and skin looking younger. Sensitive skin may want to start with Soothe first and or use Advanced Dermal Complex.

How Often to Use: While it’s important to ease into things to let your skin gradually acclimate to any ingredient, it is best used every other day.

Retinoids have a synergistic effect with antioxidants such as vitamins C and E.  Pairing any retinoid with sunscreen is also important since it may make your skin more susceptible to the sun.  We recommend using them at night and using a zinc and titanium product like Protect during the day. 

DON’T USE WITH: Since retinyl palmitate has exfoliating properties, avoid combining it with other chemical exfoliants, such as glycolic or salicylic acid, as well as harsh scrubs with abrasive ingredients. This holds especially true if you fall into the sensitive skin group.

Pregnant and Nursing: Women who are in this category should consult their doctor before using any Retinol product.

Limit this product and all Vitamin A’s from any company to 3 times a week.
